Climate Change: Geography Curriculum Review and Recommendations
This review dissects through the national curriculum prescribed for middle schoolers in Pakistan in order to understand how geography is meant to be disseminated through school education and what civic actions it is promoting to help our youth stay informed and prepared for extreme environmental calamities that Pakistan is susceptible to. This study critically examines the subject while using SDG 4.7 as a primary tool to determine its relevance in terms of the curriculum’s knowledge content and deliverable skills and dispositions. It is hoped that this review and the recommendations will present a way forward for our curriculum & education policy makers and the legislators, and all those concerned with the recent climatic crisis that Pakistan isĀ facing.
