Impacts of Forced Conversions on Education of Girls belonging to Minority Communities
This policy brief dissects into the vulnerabilities of girls belonging to Hindu communities in Sindh caused by a lack of legislation on criminalizing forced conversions. This brief also highlights on how this fear of social exploitation creates a ripple effect for all religious minorities across the province, where they become reluctant in sending their girls to schools. It carries recommendations for legislator in lieu of protecting the right to education of girls belonging to religious minorities by addressing fear of communities, and to provide for skills development programs for the victims who manage to return and need financial rehabilitation to lead dignified lives.
