Rise in Girls Education in Former FATA

Under the Frontier Crimes Regulation, the tribal areas were kept outside the democratic system. The FCR ended with the merger of the former FATA areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018.

Here, journalist Abdullah Momand mentions about seeing girls in large numbers going to schools and colleges in these areas, at levels he never saw before the war. After the war and conflict, he says, people have come to hate war, and the old tribal mindset is slowly ending.
