Reasons for Political Deadlock in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Who is to blame for the political deadlock in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?
"What has happened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa now, whether Governor's Rule or emergency, both stakeholders are responsible for it."
Journalist Abdullah Momand holds both the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the federal government responsible. In his view, neither side showed seriousness. The federal government was not serious about giving Imran Khan relief, which could have opened a way for Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, and the provincial government was not ready to cooperate with the federation. He adds that other parties have a hierarchy that decides who will say what, but the PTI had no such structure: no one set policy, and everyone was free to say anything on social media. He names these as the reasons the federation imposed the emergency.
